| Abstract: | Bushland scene with an unsealed road and a man in a small horsedrawn carriage. Near a timber and wire fence on the right is a sign with a panel of text headed by: PERTH PARK. The bush is composed mostly of relatively young eucalypts, undergrowth and grass tussocks. The man has a dark moustache and is dressed in a white shirt, jacket and bowler hat. The two wheeled carriage has a lantern attached. The man, horse and carriage look similar to those in other photographs in this collection taken by T.Kelly. Perth Park was re-named Kings Park in 1901 in honour of the accession of King Edward VII. |

The l.r. corner of the print is missing, but the photographer's name is on photograph 23/48/15B The horse, vehicle and driver in this photograph look like those in image 23/48/54. The man appears again in 23/48/21A and 23/49/71. All these photographs were taken by T.Kelly The Intercolonial Investment and Land Building Company was formed in 1885 to deal in real estate and to operate as banker and financial agents in the Australian colonies. In 1887, it absorbed the Joint Stock Building, Land and Investment Company Limited. The Company became a subsidiary of the Mercantile Mutual Insurance Company Ltd in January 1960. |
