Recording of an interview with Jai Ram Reddy (1937- ). Jai Ram Reddy initially trained as a lawyer and worked in legal practice and the Fiji Attorney-General's Office. In 1977 he became a Member of the Fiji House of Representatives. As an MHR he acted as Leader of the Opposition and served briefly as Attorney-General in the Bavadra government. In 2000, he was appointed President of the Fiji Court of Appeal only to resign from the position after the overthrow of the government in August of that year. He was reappointed President of the Court of Appeal in 2002. Recently Reddy has served as a Judge at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
